There is two parts to the Google Analytics consulting certification one is the Google Analytics Individual Qualification which is suitable for smaller agencies and even staff working for Web Analytics companies. The second is the higher partner classification where companies can apply and prove their understanding and experience by applying to be a Google Analytics Certified Partner. These Google Analytics partners are vetted by Google and require a sometimes rigorous qualification process to be approved.

So what was required of the Google Analytics Authorised Consultants to be admitted to the program?
The company must have atleast 2 staff employed who are certified by the Google Analytics Individual Qualification exam, and must have 3 verifiable, paid and expertly deployed Google Analytics projects with 3 different clients that Google can contact for a reference. Their company must have proven expertise in web analytics such as speaking engagements at conferences, influential blogs, whitepapers, and any other evidence that demonstrates their experience in being able to evangelize web analytics.
